Great lil beach here (not actually the cannery but right behind it). Water is clean and clear. Views are top notch. There isn't any thing commercial around trying to sell you some thing and I love that. (So heads up, bring your own)

To some, it may be a bit boring. But my kids and nephews had a great time doing the little scavenger hunt. The NPS Rangers were all very friendly and informative. They even did this awesome demonstration on the beach the day we were there. They fire a small canon from the beach with a line attached to the projectile. It was some crazy thing thing the coast guard came up with to save sailers off of shipwrecks and pull them to shore. It was REALLY cool! They fired a dang canon for goodness sakes! All the kids to help pull the projectile back to shore afterwards.

It's red and has old boats inside. Expect to smell old stuff and see some boats that probably aren't seaworthy anymore. The history is fascinating but the NPS does a snooze fest of presenting it. Yawn.

This is a Michigan Aurora Hunter endorsed stop. The Cannery its self is well staffed in the summer and has interesting history within it's walls. However it is the number #1 stop for Aurora Hunters. Along side the cannery is a ramp area that is one of the few Aurora hunting areas available to Handicapped people that is barrier free.

Very cool pieces and great to see. Great look to the lake. It's a quick visit, but it's worth it (because it's free!). If you are in Glen Haven, you might as well go here.
